Sim Installers

· Worked in collaboration with John.

· First draft complete, see example installers (windows):

o CCK AC

o Band Structure

o Gas properties

· To build installers for all (approx 49 including some tests) simulations takes about 30 minutes. This process is fully automated (except for manual testing afterwards)

· The installers for windows + mac + linux takes up about 440Mb.

· Remaining work:

o Cleanup code

o Bundled JRE for windows version

o Error handling for JRE autodetect failure

o Icons for each simulation

o Icons on mac

o Mac files should be zipped

o Jar files should have the right name

o More thorough testing

Motion

· Finished handling for offsets due to numerical derivative

· Automated tests to ensure correctness

· Bugfixes

· Many of these changes can be seen in a mock-up of the moving man simulation

· Here is a more fine-grained list of work on the motion project

· Work here is essentially complete, except for cleanup and issues that arise with integration into the rotation simulation

Interview

· Attended candidate’s talk

· Interview with candidate & writeup comments

Misc

· Emailed Wolfgang Christian about advertising & community benefits (haven’t heard back yet)

· Added speed & height readouts to Energy Skate Park

· Discussion of ideal-gas; band-aids vs. surgery
