The doorman knows you will be here and will give you a key.
The key has a black fob.
If the doorman is away, hold the fob next to the small metal box in the entry room to unlock the building door.
There is a similar button next to the front door to unlock on the way out.
If it doesn't work, someone or the doorman is usually back within 5 minutes.

Make yourself at home and use anything in the kitchen. There is creamer and half and half in the fridge. Sugar is in some tupperwear in the cupboard to the right of the fridge on the bottom shelf.
Feel free to use the coffee maker, stove, or anything else!

Main thermostat is on the side of the unit by the windows, on the porch door side.
Feel free to switch it to A/C and set whatever temperature is comfortable.
Heat is disabled for the summer.
There's a second A/C control in the bedroom, hidden behind the plants. Feel free to use it if the bedroom gets hot.

No need to wash sheets or towels or take out trash. Leave it for us. But if you need it...

Food: About ½ cup per day, or 2 scoops from the food tub.
If you'll be away for a day, feel free to fill the bowls so he has enough food until you get back.
When you leave at the end of the week, can you give him enough food for a few days in case we get delayed?
Water: Fountain next to the sink and bowl next to the fridge.
He should have enough water for the week, just make sure the fountain is still running.
We will leave a treat box out, feel free to give him a few if you want.
You can put him in the bedroom while watering plants or if you'd like to use the patio.

Indoor Plants

The only indoor plant that needs water is the Peace Lily (the large plant on the striped stand next to the porch door).
On Wednesday, give it about one blue water bottle's worth of water.
The pot can leak a little, so it's best to pour the water slowly into the center of the plant near the base.
All of the other indoor plants should be fine while we're away.

Outdoor Plants

Lionel: Before watering outside, could you put Lionel in the bedroom and close the door?
Blue Watering Can: The blue watering can lives outside. I usually bring it in and fill it at the kitchen sink.
You can set it on the counter next to the sink and extend the faucet nozzle directly into the opening.
Fill it to just below the double lines inside the can.
If possible, please water on Sunday morning, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
One full watering can should cover the individual terracotta pots (the 3 geraniums, the spotted begonia, and the large terracotta pot plant).
One full watering can should cover the 3 elevated planter boxes.
One full watering can should cover one of the large low planter boxes.
One full watering can should cover the other large low planter box.
If anything looks like it needs a little more or a little less water, I trust your judgment!

There is a Fairway on 86th, between 2nd and 3rd.
There is a Whole Foods on 87th and 3rd.
Thai at Lex is good fast Thai.
7th street burger is a good close burger joint.
Village Square is pretty good pizza.
Xi'an has good noodles and dumplings, it's down on 78th and 2nd.
The Chinese place we went to last time was Pig Heaven.
Blank Street is close and has cheap coffee. Café Blériot, Deer Coffee, Picky Barista are good if you are looking for an indie place.

In case we don't meet up on Sunday evening, you can leave the key with the doorman.
